This month’s EventLNK meeting will cover everything you need to know to get the right catering company for your event! Eric Pomajzl is the Events and Community Manager for Venue Catering & Events, a division of Pillar Restaurant Group. Venue provides full-service and high quality catering for any occasion. He will be covering all of the details you need to think about when booking a catering company.

We will be meeting at Virtual C, a new business technology company in Lincoln and touring their new Virtual C Collaboration Center which features multiple meeting rooms and flex spaces to cultivate
innovation, strategy, and collaboration.

Eric Pomajzl has 15+ years of experience in a variety of fields including the performing arts, non-profits, hospitality and now the corporate world. He is currently the Event and Community Manager for Pillar Restaurant Group (Venue Catering and Events) and was previously the Events Coordinator for the Lied Center for Performing Arts here in Lincoln. Upon returning from a stint living in Germany, Eric’s professional career began when he moved to Chicago, IL.  He wore many hats at various non-profits including Aidscare, Merit School of Music, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and EdgeAlliance.  Eric is a graduate of Doane College with a B.A. in Music Performance and German with a minor in Business. Eric is a member Generous Connections, a philanthropic networking group, Lincoln Southeast Kiwanis and is an executive committee member of
EventLNK, Lincoln’s event professional group.

May's EventLNK Meeting with give you a 360* view of contract negotiation.  An expert panel of speakers will cover contract negotiation from the viewpoint of the hospitality industry, event planner's perspective, and legal obligations and responsibility.  You will learn helpful tips and best practices to utilize from the moment you receive a contract through execution of services.  Our panelists include:

Sharon Endorf, Director of Member Engagement at the Nebraska Association of School Boards.   Since 2012, Sharon has been working with members, presenters, and venues to ensure the success of events for NASB.  She has planned events from contract to execution with attendance ranging from 40 to 1100.  Sharon's experience in event contracts covers the state of Nebraska as well as numerous out of state venues.  She has experience working with many types of event venues including schools, golf clubs, museums, conference centers and many more.

Christie Higgins Wilcox, JD, Director of Human Resources at Union Bank and Trust Company.  Prior to her current role, she was In-House Counsel for Union Bank.  In this position, one of her primary responsibilities was drafting and negotiation of contracts ranging from rental & service agreements to loan agreements.  She continues to consult on this topic.

Dan Jones, Director of Sales at The Cornhusker.  He began his hospitality career at the Hampton Inn Lincoln Airport as Director of Sales.  6 months later, he joined the Cornhusker Marriott as sales manager and handled the association market at the hotel.  In 2008, he and his family decided to move to Colorado.  While in Denver he sold the association market segment at both a Doubletree Hotel and a Marriott property.  One year later, he received a call from Kinseth Hospitality who was opening a new Hampton Inn & Suites and a Residence Inn back in Lincoln.  Dan oversaw the opening sales duties for thee two hotels and created their rate programs.  Then in 2010 he came back to the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel as Senior Sales Manager.  He has sold multiple market segments for the hotel and is currently responsible for University sports and UNL segments.  In February of 2019, he was promoted to the Director of Sales.
